The Georgia State Park history dates back to 1921 when along with five other states they met with the national parks director to initiate an equivalent development of parks. The vision was to set aside natural resources for preservation but at the same time assure ongoing outdoor recreational opportunities for residents. In addition to great state parks, Georgia has an ocean coastline along with significant rivers and lakes.
Boating and fishing in Georgia represent important and enjoyable past-times.
